Distortion in Value

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

Traditional masculine roles of procurement and protection have been and are often still valued higher over traditional feminine roles of nesting and nurturing, even when both parents share in the raising of the young. A fluidity of roles creates the situation where one is not performing one role, say of procurement, while the other focuses on nurturing. Both parents can be active in both roles.

The home where the children are raised must be of equal value to the marketplace where resources are earned. We also must adjust our lifestyle requirements – we have lofty expectations of what we require to live in this society. The gap between the wealthiest and the poorest must be reduced. Additionally, we need to govern tribally versus having the power centralized in a very small, but wealthy elite.

A culture imbued with dominant masculine energies exemplifies or honors those traits that are inherently masculine. We place the sexual act itself over the purpose of the act, the creation of new life. Women are acculturated to objectify their own bodies to attract the male’s sexual attentions. Women are taught from a young age to be something other than what their feminine natures call them to be: spreaders of love, Divine Love.

Power is out of balance and seen as something more desirable than unity. Power is defined as the management of or control of resources and/or others for one’s own advantage (no matter the motive). Power is seen as desirable for control and to combat fears of not having enough.

Males have the genetic coding to be physically stronger, coupled with the innate desire to protect and provide for the next generation. Yet the desire to have power over another is not coded – it is a distortion caused by or a root of the imbalance of the feminine and masculine. It also reflects the distortion based on fear and the imbalance between God and man.

The most dangerous place for a woman is her own home. The majority do not, so why would a man hurt the woman he chose to be his mate and the mother of his children? Outside the home the physical stature and strength of a person does not often seem to be a factor in the everyday workplace, except with certain jobs. There exists isolation in family units and that is a one component. Whatever the cause, the abuse of the feminine must end through education of the young and consequences for the abuser.

Women desire the power they perceive men hold. Male supremacy has been institutionalized for generations. Women had to step out of the customs of each generation to fight for increased worldly power. In today’s world, women can have the power of resource procurement and accumulation, as well as, decision-making – but they struggled for it, fighting the establishment of white, male domination. Yet, it is not an imbalance of power between male and female, but an imbalance in the perception of value of what the male and female bring to this world.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if women had no fear walking down any street in the world at any time, day or night? A world where no woman was fearful of anyone in her own home? A world where size and strength were not factors in dominion and control over another…a world where women were cherished and respected solely for being. A woman shares warmth, love, creativity, intelligence and more. She is a member of a tribe, our society, and contributes as much as any other member. Remove the fear and replace it with love, creating a more peaceful world for all.

It is truly phenomenal that a girl child born in this age has more freedom than in the past. She is less encumbered with societal rules of conduct. She has the opportunity for endless education and growth of potential. However, as wonderful as all this is, women now need to assimilate their natures of love and gentleness, compassion and patience, perseverance and strength of will, intelligence, creativity, and nurturance. Bless the world with love and ignore the call to be other than oneself. Women have struggled to have all the rights and privileges of men, but in so doing we have bought into the culture that prioritizes these masculine traits and occupations as more valuable than traditional feminine ones.

All roles are valuable. The world we have created is assigned only the value to which we give it. Create a culture of sacred sexuality where both women and men are valued first as children of the Divine and treated as such from the moment of birth to the time to say farewell from their earthly sojourn. The physical manifestation of our bodies sharply delineates the boundaries between each other. We are one, but separate, and in our separateness we stumble and fall because we don’t recognize the other as our self.

Replace domination with cooperation

Replace control over with respect for

Replace mockery with admiration

Replace criticism with praise

Replace abuse with healing

Replace fear with love.
