The Power to Heal

Are humans responsible for the planet and the other lives on the planet? Do we not usurp once again God’s strength, wisdom, and force of love if we believe ourselves capable of first harming God’s work, and second, being able to fix it?
But if we do not believe we are somewhat responsible for the care taking of the beautiful creations of this world, we live carelessly, thoughtlessly, with no concern over the impact of our actions on others, including the other inhabitants: the plants, animals, rocks, and even the earth itself.
God has blessed us with freedom of choice in this physical world. With this choice we can choose to harm or help all the creations of God that surround us. We have been blessed by creation and blessed by choice.
When we do not live as if all life is sacred, we do not honor the Giver of life. In fact we do the opposite. The natural world is beautiful; it is where we will find ourselves, where we will heal. If we do not take care of that which has been given to us, we will not only lose it, but our other gifts as well.

Walking on the beach or in a forest is the closest thing to heaven on earth for me. Taking the time to experience this heaven, unfortunately, is usually not the priority. “Life” gets in the way; work, kids, and all the other things that seem important to get done. It’s difficult to grasp that there is nothing more important than taking time out to experience Oneness on a daily basis. This experience may be different for each person, but for me and for many, it’s connecting with nature in all its glory, taking a deep breath and feeling the light of the sun on one’s face.
God created the heavens and the earth, but we collectively have created the world as we live it and see it. It is easier to live as the majority live irrespective of the damage the lifestyle choice is causing. It is easy not to believe one can make a difference when the world’s problems seem so overwhelming. We must not become disheartened. Every time we choose to live in a way that causes no harm, we are making a difference. Even something as little as replacing your lightbulbs with energy efficient ones, or using a reusable shopping bag and foregoing the plastic or paper bags, makes a difference. If these small things add up and make a difference, think about what other choices one can make on a daily, moment-to-moment basis.
We have done a lot of damage to our beautiful Mother Earth. We have not treated her as a sacred ally in this physical realm. Not just an ally, but our nurturer, our sustainer, our teacher. We have forgotten that she is sacred; a gift, a blessing, a joy. Seek ways of living that heal this earth from all its destruction, work as partners with the earth and with God to heal it. If we choose love and healing and ask God’s help, all the universe will come to our aid. There is nothing we cannot do. One soul can do much, but many can do more and all souls would be a force as such that we cannot imagine. We, in a collective consciousness of healing, have the power of God on our side.
